Final Fantasy XIV Still Being Talked About For Xbox One And Nintendo Switch!

Square Enix is a video game developer that is never above putting its titles on more than one platform. Now yes, there are exclusives, that’s natural, but they often try and put their games (when applicable) on multiple platforms to ensure they sell. One title that’s been touted as possibly going to more platforms is Final Fantasy XIV. The game is currently on PS4 and PC, but, the team behind it have been saying for months that they want to expand that reach to the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Now, there are hurdles to this of course, technical issues, server questions that need to be answered, etc. But they’re still willing to try, but only if, as Director Naoki Yoshida notes to Finder, Microsoft and Nintendo will listen to them about how it needs to be done:

“We need to make sure Nintendo and Microsoft understand what we do and have them know about our online and QA regulations”, Yoshida explained. “We believe these conversations will take a long time.”

A long time it may be, but many fans would agree that having Final Fantasy XIV on their favorite platform would be a big boon, especially for Nintendo Switch fans, as this would be the first MMORPG on a Nintendo platform.
