The month of March marks the ultimate release month for the long-delayed, highly anticipated online multiplayer game Tom Clancy’s The Division. It’s been a longtime coming for this game since it was first announced by Ubisoft. After a number of delays and years of waiting, the game’s ultimate release is now just a week away. Ubisoft has released a new launch trailer for The Division, which you can check out in the player below.
The video features some new gameplay footage and some impressive shots of a post-pandemic New York City. The environments definitely look impressively rendered, and the imagery is unsettling and harrowing. The trailer does a good job of setting up the story for players, showing how New York is at the edge of destruction after it’s been quarantined due to a deadly virus. Criminal organizations and gangs have moved in to try and take over the city streets. However, the JTF agents (the players) have arrived to restore some law and order with their unique set of skills.
The hype and promotion is definitely there for the game, and Ubisoft recently ran a very successful open beta test for the game. Now all that’s left to see is if the final product can pull it off with a big launch. Ubisoft is expecting a launch as big as other huge release titles such as Destiny, Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed.
The Division launches on March 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
