Mass Effect Andromeda To Have More Sidequest Options!

by on November 25, 2016

For the Mass Effect series, one of the main joys was going “off script” in regards to the main story and doing sidequests. These optional tasks helped you gain experience, get new items, and frankly just helped you explore the massive universe that the series offered. With Mass Effect Andromeda, this seems to be getting an upgrade of sorts.

Apparently, according to Game Informer, there will be six types of sidequests for you to partake in, each with their own purpose.

Loyalty missions will be returning, allowing you to build relationships with your teammates as well as propel the narrative in some ways. There will also be special Biohazard areas that will require you to pilot a Nomad to get around.

Then there’s Drop Zones, areas that need to be found and explored so that you can set up forward stations. These will give you intel on surrounding areas, as well as set up fast travel points for you to go to and change loadouts when desired.

For those who desire more action oriented sidequests, there will be enemy bases to destroy, as well as optional “epic boss fights” that will offer major rewards for those who dare to combat the planet bosses.

Finally, scanning will be returning to the game as well. No doubt to allow you to grow your resources and build new items.

Bioware makes it clear though that all of these types of quests are optional, and thus don’t have to be done to progress through the main story in any way. However, given the massive size and scope that Andromeda will no doubt have, it’s very likely that sidequesting will be encouraged.

Mass Effect Andromeda releases in 2017.
