The holiday season might be over, but Final Fantasy XV director, Hajime Tabata, still seems to be in a rather festive and giving mood. In a statement on the official Square Enix website, tabata claimed that 2017 would be a year of giving back to the fans of the popular Final Fantasy franchise. The latest installment of the franchise, Final Fantasy XV launched last November for the PlayStation 4, Xbox one and Windows PC.

Tabata released the following statement:

“We, the FFXV team, were able to achieve these things because of the warm and strong support of our fans. I have decided that 2017 is a year of giving back to everyone for their kindness. There are many players enjoying FFXV in various ways, and nothing makes us happier than this. To provide a long-lasting and even more enjoyable experience with FFXV for everyone, we will continue to update the game and release DLC.”

Multiple DLC packs are planed for Final Fantasy XV throughout the year, along with some free updates as well. These will include some gameplay enhancements for Chapter 13, additional cutscenes, gameplay tweaks, more enemy bosses to fight, and more. How more of Tabata’s promises will take shape will be revealed later on.

It should be noted that 2017 also marks the year of the 30th anniversary of the franchise. The original Final Fantasy was released for the NES/Famicom back in 1987.

Final Fantasy XV is available now. The Holiday Pack DLC for the game was also recently released.
