Ilysia Shows off Meta Quest 3 Improvements

by on November 20, 2023

Team 21 Studios has released a new video showing the difference in graphics between Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3. Ilysia VR has also released a roadmap and some new directions.

To prepare for Quest 3’s recent release, a number of improvements have been made to the Early Access title. The video shows improved graphics, better resolution, texture filtering, render distance, detailed distance, and even real-time shadows.

While the Meta 2 will remain supported, if you’re interested in a new headset and would like to see the improvements firsthand, you can now check them out in action.

A roadmap update was also released by the Ilysia team. Part of the November schedule was dedicated to graphical improvements for the Quest 3. Now that it is here, there is one more item on the list – improvements to the Island.

In addition, winter 2023 includes a number of planned improvements, such as a new combat controller and a new character controller. IPlus, improved mob AI, Vive Wand support, and server merging are scheduled for the winter period.

As the team continues to build out Ilysia, a healthy player population is essential as they advance and make improvements. It’s unclear why the team plans on merging servers, but this is not uncommon.

In the spring of 2024, more platform support is on the way. Support for Sony VR 2 is one of the new features being worked on. Cratera, a new zone, will also be added.

Another interesting addition may focus on grouping personalities. This means a faction merge is also coming.  So now, one personality can belong to more than one faction.  To boost the family economy, the studio will be increasing the level cap.

Furthermore, there is much talk of a new zone. This will allow new explorations of resources and buildings. New crafts and land will become available to players.
