Starfield Goes to Steam Beta Testing
Starfield has sent a beta test to Steam in preparation for its full release and pundits seem happy with the preview. In an unprecedented move, the studio has added official DLSS support plus various optimizations to output performance on CPU and GPU.
According to the YouTube creator, MxBenchmarkPC, there is a 30% performance improvement (pre-DLSS) for CPU-limited benchmarking and gains of around 10% for GPU-limited benchmarking.
In light of AMD’s announcement as Starfield’s exclusive PC partner, it was revealed the game would not support DLSS at launch. Modders filled the void, but even this caused controversy. That is why the new DLSS addition is a resounding upvote for the game.
It’s sure to be a surprise to fans who are searching for a game that doesn’t rely heavily on DLSS. Some players hoped to explore Bethesda’s massive universe without experiencing performance issues This will be another upvote.
The studio also adjusted some users’ dietary concerns, it stated:
“By popular request, we have added the ability to ingest food and drink items upon finding them in the environment. You can enjoy those Chunks immediately or save them for later. The choice is yours.”
