Ready or Not Is Finally Ready
Developers of Ready or Not have announced its exit from Early Access and a December 13th launch date. Void Interactive studio has released a new major update ahead of the launch.
Before its planned release, Ready or Not had been in early access for several years. Over that time, the game has gained a dedicated fan base who played each update. The developer has adjusted the game based on community feedback.
Taking control of a SWAT team in Ready or Not, players will be tasked with dealing with a variety of dangerous situations. From breaching dilapidated meth dens to hunting down and killing active shooters in hospitals and schools. There are many complicated situations in the game, and players are required to save the day. Even so, they must adhere to the strict Rules of Engagement outlined for every mission.
In a new dev vlog, the studio detailed the changes that will be coming with the launch update of Ready or Not when it leaves Early Access on December 13.
With 1.0, the movement mechanics have been radically overhauled. Users will be able to control their team’s movement and formation. AI will maintain formation and avoid the player’s line of fire in combat.
Furthermore, 12 new SWAT teammate voices are added with over 18,000 lines of dialogue. Additionally, non-lethal deployment commands can now be issued to players in multiplayer. Plus, breach and clear mechanics have been improved, mod support has been improved, and more.
Ready or Not is positioned by its creators Void Interactive as a spiritual successor to popular tactical shooters like SWAT as well as Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six series from the past.
Grab Ready or Not on Steam for $39.99 or get the Support Edition for $79.99 to get the game’s first expansion pack (release date TBD), as well as the game’s official soundtrack, and access to the experimental Supporter branch.
