Last Epoch and Myth of Empire Are Breaking Records
Two MMORPGs are showing interesting performances that merit thumbs up. Both Last Epoch and Myth of Empires have returned above expectations and are establishing new records. The multiplayer games are sitting in envious positions as players are enjoying their gameplay.
Last Epoch which was launched days ago, crossed the 230,000 player mark within half an hour of launching. The growth has not lowered, forcing the developers to seek alternative servers and offer apologies and free cosmetics to players who may have found a slow pace.
The studio was quick to take action. In an announcement on the game’s subreddit, director Judd Cobler explained that 150,000 people attempted to access it within 20 minutes of its launch.
“This did mean that all of our scale testing efforts were immediately put to the test, and unfortunately a service failed in a way that we didn’t suspect, and we immediately went to work to investigate and resolve it,” he explained.
In addition to the online mode, there’s also an offline mode that some players were able to turn to. Cobler was transparent throughout the launch by posting on the official Discord with updates, and he promises they’ll continue to do so.
Myth of Empires
Last week, Myth of Empires returned to Steam after being removed from the platform in December 2021 due to a DMCA complaint filed by Snail Games. The irony of the dispute is that Snail Game is now the official publisher of Myth of Empires.
With an all-time peak concurrency of 47,654 players, the oriental medieval sandbox game has received “Mostly Positive” Steam reviews. The game now averages 30,000 players and continues to ramp up news joins on an hourly basis.
“Myth of Empires features sandbox gameplay with a high degree of freedom; the game has 1300+ different crafting recipe, allowing you to build your own empire. The v1.0 release adds new recipes, including mechanical tools and base defenses, as well as a new planting system. The possibilities are endless.” The Studio said.
