Blizzard Entertainment released a series of new infographics providing some stats and information for the recent Overwatch open beta that was held earlier this month. You can check out the full infographic at this link.
The open beta was held earlier this month for Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Over the course of seven days, players took part in 4.9 billion minutes of game time (more than 81 million hours) and more than 37 million matches. That’s on top of the 9.7 million players who took part in the beta. The infographic also features a lot of other different post-match stats, facts and figures for the beta that fans can check out.
The infographic also revealed the most popular characters that were used by players during the open beta. The most picked characters included Soldier 76, Widowmaker, Reinhardt and Mercy. And there were over 271 million mid-game hero swaps between characters.
All the news bodes quite well for the ultimate launch of the game which should be huge for Blizzard and Activision. Anticipation and hype for the game is riding pretty high. Overwatch finally arrives on May 24 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. In addition, Blizzard also announced the next animated short based on the game, “Hero,” will debut on May 22. The short will showcase Soldier 76.
