ArcheAge and ArcheAge: Unchained to Integrate
ArcheAge and ArcheAge: Unchained will integrate to form one single game. As the developing studio, Kakao Games, seeks to reduce costs.
According to MMORG.com, Kakao Games has consistently worked with its community in making major decisions. This time around, the company sought the input of players on the possible merger of both games. The company confessed its inability to maintain ArcheAge: Unchained with a low population.
Impressively, the community responded with a resounding ‘yes’. Given the players’ nod, the studio set out its operative plans to integrate both games. The process is expected to begin in November 2023.
However, this is easier said than done. The ArcheAge: Unchained is a compulsory subscription platform and moving to the ArcheAge model would have to consider a large list of settings and options.
Some of these settings include accounts, from subscriptions to login records to credits to sales and possessions. Even though the company has published some very detailed integration plans, the list is huge.
In addition, the company is aware that no change is easy, even with members’ agreement. For, example, the game will be hosted on a large server for both North America and Europe. This means legions of data transfer.
Merger Plan Summary
Nonetheless, the company has given some initial assurances and general processes. These are bent on helping players overcome the stress that may come with starting over. Here is a list of the most important elements.
- Subscription: All remaining subscription time will be transferred to the new merged game at a 1:1 ratio
- General Data: Family and guild data will remain unchanged but dungeon stats, UI settings, and pending friend requests will not be transferred.
- Housing: Installed houses will be redistributed as kits and all furniture will be sent via mail.
Kakoa Games has a big plus on its side, its great communication prowess. Players are aware of and are waiting to get involved in the merger of both games.
