It seems to be the new trend, as Ring of Elysium joins other MMOs that have closed down this year. The 2023 gaming year has been showered with news of industry-wide games and gaming studio closures.
The latest comes today with xxx studio’s decision to discontinue the operations of Ring of Elysium. The company a short announcement on its Steam page.

1. Termination Schedule
We regret to inform you that Ring of Elysium will be terminated with effect from 1 December 2023, 0:00(PST) (“Termination Date”). You will still be able to enjoy the game and use any existing in-game items until the Termination Date. The timeline for terminating Ring of Elysium is set out below, please understand that the exact date and time of termination may differ slightly by region.
• 1 September 2023, 0:00(PST)
payments for in-game purchases, virtual items, or any other related transactions will be disabled;
downloads of Ring of Elysium will be disabled and it will no longer available on Steam;
• 1 December 2023, 0:00(PST)
Ring of Elysium will be terminated and you will no longer be able to enjoy the game from this date.
In 2018, Ring of Elysium offered a free-to-play experience inspired by PUBG: Battlegrounds with several interesting mobility features such as climbing gear, skiing, gliders, and grappling hooks.
Despite reaching an all-time peak of over 60,000 players, Ring of Elysium’s player base dwindled by early 2019. The game’s cash shop has already been closed, but existing players can still play the game until the closure date.
Some players even made comparisons between the game and PUGBWith dynamic weather effects, a day and night cycle as well as dynamic weather conditions. In this regard, Ring of Elysium stands out from PUBG.
