Games Scheduled for Memory Lane
Gloria Victis
Black Eye Games, developer of the MMO Gloria Victis, has announced that it will be RIP for the game. It will end the show with the server’s closure on October 31, 2023.
Gundam Evolution
Gundam Evolution will be shutting down in a little over a year since its launch. Bandai Namco announced its plans to close the game as it did not perform well in the live service market. The game will officially go offline on November 29, 2023.
RIPs – Video Games that Died in 2023
Moonlight Sculptor
All sculpting work in Moonlight Sculptor came to a full stop, as Kakao Games announced the closure of the fantasy sandbox MMORPG. After almost two years the servers died on May 4, 2023.
Leafling Online
Celtaria Productions’ 2D open-PvP MMORPG, Leafling Online, went down memory lane. The game spent two and a half years in early access and never reached full release.
The Realm Online
Classic ’90s MMORPG game The Realm Online faded into the shadows after 27 years. The game servers turned off on Friday, June 30, 2023.
Swords of Legends Online
Gameforge announced that Swords of Legends Online would close on June 30, 2023. The MMO was pulled from Gameforge’s servers in the West, though it continues in China.
Echoes of Mana
Square Enix pruned another live service game from its portfolio with the closure of its 2D mobile co-op MMORPG Echoes of Mana. Echoes of Mana went offline on May 15, 2923, less than a year after it first launched
The Repopulation
Kickstarted sandbox MMORPG The Repopulation finally closed down after lingering in early access for over eight years. TGS revealed that they had a falling-out with Idea Fabrik and so have shut down the game’s servers, website, and Discord on January 13, 2023..
