World of Warcraft Opens Pre-registration
Blizzard has launched pre-registration for its winter 2024 open beta. The studio has shared a roadmap for its new updates with three huge editions planned. Fans are already signing up to be part of the new tests.
Earlier this year, the studio revealed the World of Warcraft 2024 roadmap, which includes the release dates for The War Within and Cataclysm Classic. They’re already accepting beta testers for Cataclysm Classic.
In Blizzard’s roadmap, Cataclysm Classic beta will happen between winter and spring. Opening signups now, just before the new year, makes sense since the event will be happening in the summer.
As part of update 10.2.6, Retail WoW will receive three more Dragonflight content updates ahead of The War Within next year. These include the epilogues to the Dragon Isles, a new PvP and Mythic season, and pirates
The War Within Alpha is scheduled to begin at the beginning of Spring, with the patch following sometime in the summer. It will bring Dynamic Flight, Warbands, and more to WoW before the official expansion launch.
World of Warcraft: The War Within is the next expansion for the decades-long MMORPG set to release in the coming months. It was hailed as a culmination of nearly twenty years of Warcraft history during the BlizzCon 2023 Opening Ceremony.
Like any expansion, The War Within will bring new areas for players to explore, along with a variety of dungeons and encounters they can tackle at varying levels of difficulty. Blizzard‘s Assistant Lead Encounter Designer Drew de Sousa said:
“This expansion is very unique in the sense that we are exploring maybe non-traditional archetypes or zones. For World of Warcraft, there’s always been a deep layer or two to the fantasy that we’re trying to hit. We’re trying to go big with the zones and make a unique flavor for your (the player’s) experience. We definitely talked to a lot of experts about underground biomes and underground caves.”
