Second Dinner Updates Marvel Snap

by on March 24, 2024

Earlier this week, Second Dinner deployed another over-the-air update for Marvel Snap which also removed the incredibly fun Avengers vs. X-Men “Imbalance” patch event that gave some infrequently used cards new life.

There has been another balance tweak, aimed at reducing the strength of Thanos decks, which remain prevalent in the metagame. This time, the Mind Stone has been changed to a 2 cost, which will probably surprise players.

As a result of discard being too common and attracting the ire of the balance team, Apocalypse’s power has been nerfed to 6 from 8, bringing him down from 8. Psylocke, from Thanos decks, also caught a stray for Thanos with a power reduction from 2 to 1.

There was no doubt Captain Marvel was a menace in the meta at 4/5 months ago but has been nerfed to 4/4. This did not see much play, since then, the meta has shifted enough for the team to feel comfortable restoring her power to 5.

As for Adam Warlock, who was hit with a 5/4 in a previous patch and went from not playing to playing well, still hasn’t played, he has been hit with a 5/5 once again. Let’s see how it turns out.

The Marvel Snap game has been developed by Second Dinner and published by Nuverse for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows. It features characters from the Marvel Universe.

The game has players assemble decks and battle for control over three different locations, each with its own unique properties. Once two locations have been controlled after six turns, or seven under special conditions, the player wins the game.
