Redfall Adds Last Update Amidst the Studio’s Closure
The final update for Redfall, update 4, is now available. The update overhauls the Neighborhood and Nest systems and introduces additional features like offline mode, pause functionality for single players, and Frame Generation technology from NVIDIA’s DLSS.
As players complete Safehouse missions, rescue civilians, or take out Underbosses, they will earn “Community Standing.” Support currency can be used to unlock new Safehouse Skill Tree rewards.
The new update adds six new ranks to the Community Standing reputation track and 39 rewards that grant permanent buffs. These buffs scale in power as the character progresses.
Nest revamp has added Elder Nests, which are boss-oriented nests that challenge players to kill “dangerously modified” special Vampires. Players will receive a temporary buff called “Heart Shard” if they are successful in eliminating an Elder Nest.
After Microsoft announced it was shutting down studios, including Redfall developer Arkane Austin, the update created concerns. Players would like to see the addition of an offline mode for the game. Although the servers of Redfall will be online for some time, the offline mode should give players some reassurance.
