Netease Games to Launch Gregg Street’s MMO

In a surprising announcemenay, NetEase Games disclosed both the name of Gregg Street’s studio and an agreement to publish its upcoming MMO. Players were teased two days ago by the developer to expect information on his new studio and MMORPG.

According to the post, NetEase Games has reached an agreement with Greg Street’s new studio, Fantastic Pixel Castle. The company is currently creating a new MMORPG that will be published soon. Greg Street was the primary designer of the upcoming Riot Games MMO and World of Warcraft. The game is codenamed Ghost.

“With Fantastic Pixel Castle and Ghost, we want to demonstrate our commitment to open communication and development in front of players,” said Greg Street, studio head of Fantastic Pixel Castle. “MMOs are arguably one of the most challenging genres of games to make, but we have some big advantages. We are a fully remote studio, allowing us to hire the best game developers, and we plan to stay small so that we can iterate on our design quickly. We also want to show the game early and often to the community and make sure we are on the right track to incorporate constant feedback. This is possible because NetEase Games is a strategic partner that understands our vision, and gives us the creative autonomy, resources, and support to be successful.”

In terms of information beyond the game and the studio behind it, nothing is known for sure. However, it is good to see a new MMORPG in development. More information will be revealed in a livestream at 10 a.m. PST on Fantastic Pixel Castle’s Twitch channel on November 8, 2023.
