Game of Thrones Mobile Resurfaces

by on March 13, 2024

The game developer Netmarble announced in 2022 that it was working on a mobile MMO centered around the Game of Thrones universe. Since then, the game has not been heard from again. Did it disappear? Not according to the latest information.

South Korean game developer Netmarble creates MMOs and mobile games like Marvel Future Fight and Lineage2: Revolution. The company announced the Game of Thrones MMO, entitled “Project T”, in 2022.

Since the trailer, there has been silence from Netmarble. Now, however, a job ad suggests the company is still working on the game. The advertisement said, “Project T translator wanted.”. However, fans will have to wait for official announcements from the company.

Although very little is known about the game, it is believed that Netmarble’s Game of Thrones MMO will be developed using Unreal Engine 5 in collaboration with HBO, featuring a previously untold story set in Westeros.

Among the characters in the game are Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow. A large open world will allow players to explore well-known locations and, of course, engage in fighting battles.

There is still a lot of uncertainty about how the game will be created. On Reddit, fans were already slightly skeptical of the 2022 announcement thinking it would be just a redesigned Lineage 2.

Moreover, Netmarble’s games are criticized for aggressively monetizing. Marvel Future Fight’s plethora of microtransactions are also criticized.
