The hype is definitely building for Dark Souls III, the next installment of the Dark Souls franchise. A new trailer with new gameplay footage just dropped for the game today from Bandai Namco Games, and you can check out the new “True Colors of Darkness” trailer in the player below.

The new trailer is set to the theme music of “True Colors” by Tom Kelly and Billy Steinberg and performed by Richie Kohan and featuring Faux Fix. It’s a rendition of an older song by Cyndi Lauper. The new footage showcases some new boss fights, environments and some creepy, monstrous enemies. This includes a giant enemy tree. That fight looks particularly epic. The city or kingdom in the footage looks dead and decaying, and the knight has to fight through it all. It definitely looks like a once great kingdom that became blighted. This trailer definitely does a good job of showcasing the scale of the game and the sheer size of its enemies and bosses. However, it also makes the game look really creepy and unsettling.

Dark Souls III’s highly anticipated release is right around the corner. From Software’s major turning point in the Souls franchise arrives on April 12 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
