Battleborn Sales Matching Gearbox’s Expectations!
Gearbox Software recently released their newest IP, Battleborn, and with good reviews and positive word-of-mouth, it appears as though the game is selling well. During a Twitch live stream, creative director Randy Varnell talked about the game, as well as it’s future and how it might mimic Gearbox’s mega popular franchise Borderlands.
“Ultimately, Borderlands [was an] extremely successful new game for us,” Varnell said during a Twitch livestream (as reported by Videogamer), “and even Borderlands 1 went on to sell, I think, almost 7, 8 million units in its lifetime.”
He believes the game will “work like [Borderlands]” in its sales, calling Battleborn’s launch “solid.” The developer is seeing “steady and growing user counts on all three platforms,” and is hoping word-of-mouth will continue to increase sales.
There has been no official sales numbers released for Battleborn’s launch at present.
