Game Informer’s Destiny: Rise of Iron report shared some tantalizing details for what gamers can expect for the game and the new expansion later this fall. The Rise of Iron expansion arrives in September. This includes the return of the Sparrow Racing League.
Bungie confirmed that the Sparrow Racing League will return to Destiny December. Along with the return of Sparrow racing, there will be reportedly some changes to existing tracks as well as new tracks based on Rise of Iron environments. Speaking on the subject, live team director Jerry Hook reportedly stated: “When we talk about SRL coming back, it’ll probably be wrapped in a different style, not just focused around SRL. Because some of the stuff that we learned from our players around the Sparrow Racing League is that some people didn’t like racing. So, can you do something with the event that helps support those players a little bit differently? Absolutely.”
There will be another Halloween-themed player event in the fall as well. The Festival of the Lost will return in October. This will include some new masks and “other surprises” that are planned. It should be interesting to see what else Bungie has planned for upcoming post-Rise of Iron events.
Destiny: Rise of Iron is due out on September 20. The expansion will only be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
