Steam Next Fest, the free event that takes place next week, will feature a free demo for Ship of Heroes, the spiritual successor to now-defunct superhero MMORPG City of Heroes.
It is the game’s tenth public testing event and it is open to everyone, regardless of whether you have participated in previous testing sessions.
It’s worth noting that both the name and the content will be classified as demos since players will only have access to the character creator and the first story arc of Story Blossom.
The game is being developed by Heroic Games Studio and they noted in a recent website post:
“The first Sword Blossom story arc focuses on the Engineering department aboard the FHS Justice and their quiet struggle against the Promethean menace and the evil Dr. Cornish.
“The arc contains seven missions, culminating in an intense battle to protect the FHS Justice and its inhabitants from assimilation.”
According to Heroic Games, the selection of costume pieces has doubled or tripled since the last beta test. You will get a boatload of in-game currency to use as you please.
You can check out the official demo trailer for Ship of Heroes here, which will launch on October 9 and will run until October 16
Ship of Heroes is a new twist to the defunct City of Heroes. The game has a unique similarity to Star Trek, except that you are defending a nation. It goes way beyond projecting and exploring space.
You can team up to defeat enemies, or you can try the hardest content alone if you dare. Overthrow titans in large raids with dozens of heroes. Protect a nation in space aboard a 25th-century spaceship.
In addition, there is a sci-fi side to this MMORPG. As you explore space, you will discover new life forms that threaten the world you plan to defend.
