Raspawn to Release New Star Wars
There are rumors that Respawn Entertainment is working on Mandalorian-themed games. The studio is also behind Apex Legends and the Star Wars Jedi series.
As Star Wars fans know, Mandalorians have been around for a long time, even before the Disney+ series The Mandalorian rose to prominence. Now, it appears we’ll get a glimpse of a Mandalorian in video games.
According to Insider Gaming, the game will be a first-person shooter where players will assume the role of a Mandalorian bounty hunter during the Galactic Civil War (the setting of the original Star Wars films).
The game will emphasize “mobility” and “style,” according to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb. Players can use the Mandalorian’s jet pack to dash horizontally, leap vertically, and boost slide, which is similar to sliding down hills in Apex Legends.
Notably, there will be a strong emphasis on style in the gameplay, such that players who are capable of making kills swiftly will have the advantage of health regeneration.
Besides the wrist rocket, the Mandalorian will have access to other weapons and toys, including a grappling hook, a visor for tagging enemies, etc. The game will not be open world but will focus on linear levels throughout the Star Wars universe.
This time the game will feature a Mandalorian bounty hunter as its protagonist. The game will be first-person in nature, mixing elements from Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi on the one hand, and Revenge of the Sith on the other.
It is unknown when the game will be released, but it is expected to take at least another year or two; multiplayer is also unknown. In 2022, Respawn announced that it would be developing three Star Wars games, including one that was called “Star Wars Battlefront II,” and one called “Star Wars Battlefront III.”.
