Pokemon Sword and Shield Have Sold Over 6 Million Units So Far
How is Pokemon Sword and Shield doing sales-wise? Any updates on that?
Various sources, including a report from the Pokemon Company, have noted that Pokemon Sword and Shield has sold over 6 million copies in its first week. That includes over 2 million in the United States, making it the biggest Pokemon launch in the US ever. Japan sold over 1.5 million, and the UK had its 2nd-biggest Pokemon launch ever via Sword and Shield.
This comes in spite of various controversies that the games drummed up due to not having the entire Pokedex available for people to catch, as well as some small issues with the graphics. With Black Friday coming up, it’s very likely that the games will get another sales boost.
