No Man’s Sky Gets Data Breakdown and Update Reveal!

by on July 11, 2016

As we draw closer to the release of No Man’s Sky, Hello Games has begun to delve deeper into the little things about the title that will affect many gamers.

For example, the game itself will be about 6GB on the game discs. This comes from Hello Games founder Sean Murray on Twitter who states:

“For those asking – size of No Man’s Sky on disc is just 6GB. A lot of that is audio”. This proves just how massive No Man’s Sky is.

Also, Murray relays how the certification process has been going for the game. Certification is a requirement for all games to have to be released on certain plaforms. He says on Twitter:

“RC1 on the disc means Release Candidate 1. We passed cert first time in EU, US and Asia, currently here working on Japanese submission (ᵔᴥᵔ)”

Finally, Murray states that the game is already being prepared for its first update:

“Well, waiting for a build to upload really. Actually we’re already busy on Update 1”.

No word yet on whether this update will be a Day One update like many AAA in the past of had, or if it will be one down the road. Likely, this will be dependent on how many people buy the game, and what problems they come across during gameplay.
