New Overwatch Map and Skins Out on PC! Get the Details Here!

by on August 22, 2016

Some new material is available for Overwatch this week in the Public Test Realm (PTR), and it’s very good news for gamers who like to play as the big, burly Reinhardt. Blizzard Entertainment and Jeff Kaplan revealed on the official forums that Overwatch players for Windows PC can now use the Eichenwalde map along with two new skins for the Reinhardt character, but this can only be done in PTR.

According to Kaplan, the Eichenwalde map is in both Quick Play and Competitive rotations. There’s also a Brawl that specifically focuses on that map for players who just want to test it out, along with the other two Reinhardt skins in PTR. The skins for Reinhardt are Legendary-level skins: Balderich; and Greifhardt.

It’s good to see new maps and skins get consistently added to Overwatch over time. Hopefully, Blizzard will consider adding in some new gameplay modes in the coming months as well. Still, it’s nice to get new characters, new maps and new skins recently as well. Hopefully, that will continue over the life of the game and future installments.

The new map is scheduled to make its official, formal release in September. Overwatch is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
