Dead by Daylight Brings Alan Wake Into the Game
One of the most terrifying online games is choosing to add its author to the horror list. Dead by Daylight will be adding Alan Wake, from Remedy Entertainment’s series of the same name to its roster.
In Dead by Daylight, the likeness of Alan Wake is based on Ilkka Villi, the same physical actor from the source games. Matthew Porretta returns as the iconic author’s voice.
Three new skills have been added to the character of Alan Wake in this chapter. These are Champion of Light, Boon: Illumination, and Deadline.
: “Champion of Light” enhances his movement speed while revealing a generator as well as a chest aura to nearby survivors. “Boon: Illumination” creates a totem, revealing a generator and chest aura to nearby survivors.
When injured, “Deadline” makes skill checks more frequent during healing or generator repair. Missing checks result in reduced penalties.
Sam Lake, creative director of Remedy Entertainment, had the following to say on Alan Wake’s inclusion in Dead by Daylight:
“We are thrilled to bring Alan Wake, our tortured writer, into the acclaimed Dead by Daylight. We feel the lore of our two horror experiences is a match made in the Dark Place and can’t wait to experience the horrors that await him in the Fog.”
Dead by Daylight is an online asymmetric multiplayer survival horror game developed by Canadian studio Behaviour Interactive. This multiplayer (4vs1) horror game stars one player as the savage Killer trying to eliminate the living humans. The other four players are the survivors trying to escape the Killer without being caught, tortured, or killed.
To escape the trial, the survivors aim to repair five of seven generators scattered throughout it to power the two exit gates.
Interestingly, the killer damages these generators as he searches for Survivors who have failed generator and healing skill checks or have attempted rushed actions like vaulting through windows.
The Alan Wake character will be available on January 30, 2024.
