ARK: Survival of the Fittest Set for the PS4 This Summer! Learn the Launch Details Here!

by on April 21, 2016

Studio Wildcard has officially announced that ARK: Survival of the Fittest will be getting a port to the PlayStation 4 later this summer. The PS4 version is set to feature all the current gameplay that’s available for the Windows PC version along with a new Practice Mode. You can also check out a new Survival of the Fittest trailer that was released today in the player below.

ARK: Survival of the Fittest will be available through the PlayStation 4 beta program. The development team is planning to release regular content updates for the game as well. The Practice Mode is a completely offline mode that will allow gamers to build up their skills. The EIO rating, match-making, leaderboards and pro-tier monthly cash prizes will all be a part of the game’s PlayStation experience.

Speaking on the announcement Studio Wildcard co-founder and co-creative director Jesse Rapczak stated: “PlayStation gamers will now get the raw emotional sense of competitive satisfaction that PC gamers have been experiencing, as they wage war to survive and thrive. The simple addition of the practice mode means a lot, as PS4 gamers can hone their skills before jumping into the competitive wilds to form tribes, tame T-Rexes, and use everything in the ARK sandbox to fight it out. We don’t call it Survival of the Fittest for nothing!”

ARK: Survival of the Fittest will be available starting July 19. The game is a multiplayer online survival arena where as many as 72 combatants can compete in spontaneous Hunger Games-style competitions in a closed battlefield in a shrinking “ring of death.” Only one tribe can make it out alive.
