Ankama Games’ mobile MMORPG Dofus Touch relaunches today in English. The studio has launched a new server, improved interface, and early game expansion.
In an attempt to reach out to the international market, Ankama is relaunching Dofus Touch, its free-to-play mobile MMORPG. Starting today, the Roubaix, France-based developer has implemented a new English language server and redesigned the early game experience.
A new game from Ankama, Dofus Touch engages players in a world full of mysteries and lore related to its titular dragon eggs. A tactical, turn-based combat system and playable classes provide players with a challenge while they explore the world.
It is an adaptation of Ankama’s tactical MMORPG (released in English in 2005) brought to mobile devices. On mobile, you can explore the World of Twelve, meet new people, and learn about the mysterious dragon eggs.
There are 15 original playable character classes, each with a twist on some typical fantasy classes. These include Iops, sword-wielding warrior/paladin types, and Osamodas, imp-like summoners who also wield hammers. Xelors, whose appearance is similar to that of mummies, are known for their ability to control time (and enemies).
The team promises more than 10,000 maps are included in this release, along with thousands of quests. Dofus might be the first game you’ve played that comes to mind with its stylized anime-meets-western cartoon inspired character classes.
More than 70 dungeons to explore. Many mobs to slay, people to meet, and loot. Dofus Touch also features turn-based strategy. Team up with others on the go to coordinate some powerful combos.
Dofus’ colorful characters, memorable classes, and turn-based combat contributed to the original success of the PC version. In addition, there is Wakfu, the Wakfu animated series, and more recently, Waven, Ankama’s latest game.
The Dofus Touch game is available now on iOS and Android, and it’s free to play with optional services, such as cosmetics.
