I'm not trying to bash on the design here but the console kind of looks too boring, in my opinion. It's like an old DVR that has an XBOX logo on it.
I think it's a lot better than the 360 was. Only flaw is that it can't stand upright. When I bought it I had to designate a spot just for it and I wasn't very happy but that alone doesn't make me hate it. It is sleek and I like that.
I like the custom skins for the Xbox One though (that Halo 5 one makes me want to switch over, haha), maybe I'm just not used to the console.
I actually like it. I am not really all that concerned with how the thing looks in the first place, as long as it works well, but I do not think that this one is particularly ugly or anything. I do think that it could look a little less boxy and like you said like a DVD player, but we can't have everything that we ask for.
