  1. Importing doesn't work all that well yet, but it's better than nothing.

I'm going to be uncharitable and assume that 4A removed underbarrel weapons because the console control scheme was already getting unwieldy.

Anyways, the fact that the weapons are modeled and textured is interesting, though. Have you guys made any further progress on repacking the vfs files?

  5. Nothing so far.

We couldn't get the first game to accept modified levels, so... :eek:hwell:

At least we were promised cake SDK in Fall of 2013.

Nice, they even added iron sights to the Volt Driver.

Ah, as in a collimator sight?

But wouldn't the front post sight then effectively obstruct the user's view? Or is that something else entirely?

Also, was there any indication in the files as to whether the Vychlop is, in fact, chambered in 12.7 rounds? Cause damn, those rounds are hard to come by...

What in the world is that grenade-launcher-like attachment on the AK...?

Some kind of GP30 grenade launcher I would assume :p ... and the one with the battery probably the makeshift one firing pipe bombs XD

The other one is likely an under-barrel shotgun attachment (basically the Ashot bolted to your rifle).

I just found a Lolife with an extended magazine that also turns it into a .44 caliber submachine gun.

Granted, it's pretty much inferior to an AR with MGR's in every way, but still pretty cool, I had always assumed that one gun merchant calling it an SMG was just a mis-translation.

I also found out in my playthrough before that that the Kalash gets extended mags. What with all of the odd attachments out there that can only be obtained in certain ways, somebody should really make a list of every weapon's attachments, the wiki is pretty barren.

In my first playthrough, I switched my 5.45 gun from Bastard to AK-74 when I found one. In the church I bought AK-2012 and kept it till the end, since VSV in LL appears too late and I don't know how it's better than AK-2012. I thought AK-2012's damage was higher than VSV, probably based on my misunderstanding from Metro 2033.

After reading Komodo Saurian's message on Metro wiki (in revision history) says that all weapons using the same caliber do the same amount of damage (don't know if it's tested in game or info from the devs), I just keep using AK-74 in my later playthroughs (love classic AKs). Can anyone give a more detailed comparison on the pros & cons of each 5.45 gun? Since now almost every gun can be suppressed, if the damage is the same in default (attachments related), it seems there's no much reason for me to use VSV in LL. I only know AK-2012 & Bastard have higher ROF, AK-2012 & VSV seem more accurate in burst, and VSV has a bit faster reload speed.

Expect (and it is a fact) you can recreate most of them in the real world and they will work.

For me, I use Kalashnikov 2012 with silencer, laser dot, and night vision optic
Preved (aka Privet) rifle with Flash Suppressor, Optics and bigger magazine
and Revolver, silencer, night vision scope, and Stock + Forend.
Before that for close encounters I used Uboinik and Duplet with various mods aimed towards damage instead of range.
