    You'll probably still enjoy them due to the nostalgia.

    Oh. Well then, that's still mighty impressive.

    Guys, Shadow of Chernobyl took ages to develop and the two other games were released on modified versions of the same unique yet unstable & buggy engine. Moreover, they're obscure Eastern European games. Look at Two Worlds, Cryostasis and The Witcher... they're all quite cheap when compared to massive productions from the West. The only reason why Metro 2033 got the media attention that allowed them to get so much more money for Last Light is because Metro was never as ambitious as Stalker. Metro didn't try to offer you a living world where everyone and everything can kill each other without your interference - instead it gave you an exciting roller coaster ride that didn't hold your hand like modern military shooters and let you step out of the seat more, but that's really it. Metro's main structure has always basically been like an Eastern European, post-apocalyptic CoD but heavily inspired by Stalker. And since that wasn't quite as ambitious as what Stalker set out to do, there weren't as many areas they could slip up in.
