Watched "Stalker" today. I began with little hope, since I read that the camera shots were very long, and that it was little like the original book. Also, it was filmed in a not-too-good time for Russia. But within minutes, I was fully enjoying it, truly impressed by how they managed to capture the essence of the book, and make into a great movie. It's not actiony, it's not cliche, and it's got good music. But if you're not a fan of old movies, you might not like it. Very good movie, though, very happy I bought it.

Terminator 4 was a good one i thought, a little unbelievable at times (jumping in the ocean at night...) but a little underrated i thought.

Legend was another really good one imo. On disk you can go with an alternative [and better] ending.

    1985 was? Can't remember

12 Monkeys was good [Bruce Willis and Brad Pit among others]

Escape from LA and New York are sort of a cousin to post-aplocalyptic i think. I enjoyed both. New York is kinda corny now though.

I never really thought of "12 Monkeys" as post-apocalyptic until you said that now :O

Yeah, guess these two (three) could be said to be post-apocalyptic-style.
    Twelve monkeys is pretty good.
Love escape from New York, especially Snake, cracks me up. :)

I dunno if anyone said this, but Blade Runner with Harrison Ford is pretty good. Based on an awesome book.

Hey have anyone seen Reign of fire?
It is a post-apocalyptic movie where dragons have taken over the earth.

Finally! A classic. Have you watched "The Last Man On Earth" with Vincent Price? The Omega man is based on this, and then so was "I Am Legend"

If we are talking oldies though, the 1981 BBC tv series of Day Of The Triffids. Very bleak, and pretty faithful to the book.
i keep meaning to by the "Threads" box set. Never seen it, but apparently very good, if depressing viewing...

I watched The Road. It's definitely the most realistic and emotional Apocalyptic movie I have seen, and ever will see. I Am Legend, now that's another story. Although I enjoyed it, and Will Smith is awesome, I still felt a little disappointed after watching it. Reign Of Fire looks awesome, so I'm gonna get that as soon as I can :3

Zombie Diaries looks pretty bad to me, but as a comment under the vid said: I am checking it right now and seriously its not bad as the trailer, its pretty good! Check it before disliking it!.

Also found this, looking not-so-good either:

Other than that, I'll recommend The Walking Dead to the few that haven't watched it. Very very awesome apocalyptic series that, to me, focuses a lot on the community of the survivor-group. There's a whole lotta drama in it, but for those who don't like that, there's also loads of zombie-goo and zombie-shooting c:
One thing I liked in the beginning of the series is the mix of a western cowboy sheriff on a horse in a modern and apocalyptic zombie-infested city :p

A bit less yay for including them though... A nice quote from the movie: "Only one thing worse than a dragon... Americans."

Still, I own Reign of Fire on blu ray. It's stunning to look at, to say the least. Soundtrack by Edward Shearmu is phenomenal as well!
