Hello Ildamos here. I'm a newbie YouTube Let's Player and I'm wondering if Deep Silver allows YouTubers to make Let's Play series of their games.
Yes this, sadly. I just sent a letter to Deep Silver I hope they respond. If not, what other avenues can I pursue? LPs are just free advertising for their games --- I myself look at LPs to see if a game is worth buying. I'm not going to NOT buy a game just because I've seen an LP of it. Frankly, I think Nintendo's just being silly.
You play a game because you enjoy it and make a video because you want to share your enthusiasm and passion about it to the World, not to make a quick buck out from it!
Point. I wouldn't have stopped even if Deep Silver didn't give me permission but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. It turns out they welcome the LPs; they just sent me the greenlight even going so far as to add: "Thanks for your support!" Thanks man! And because they're awesome, come hell or high water, I'll buy Metro: Last Light from the local mall in the next few weeks. It's good to support devs/publishers who: 1. Form good relationships with their fan base 2. Develop games that have advance PC features like PhysX, tesselation and stuff; rare breed nowadays. Edit: Here's the letter they sent: http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/2203/deepsilvermetro2033yout.jpg Really cool bunch. ^_^
If you love the series then post your YT channel, I like listening to Metro commentaries whilst people play the game, especially if it is from a fellow fan.
Would have loved to but: Anyway, channel page: ildamos Warning: I am not American nor am I European; I hope you won't have any problems with my accent. Also, I'm a deliberate player; I don't go bunny jumping all across the maps. Some of my viewers don't like the slow pacing; some love it.
