Debate- Are Esports a "Sport"

    Sport: an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

    So technically, yes, it can be considered a sport; maybe not an official sport, but it is a sport. But personally, I don't see it as a sport. It's just like when people claim poker being sport. Yes it includes, competition , skill, and physical exertion if you have a severe case of Carpal Tunnel, but in the end it, it just doesn't fit the norm of what a true sport is.

    It all just depends on how you interpret the definition above.

    I was going to bring up the same thing. I'd certainly agree that the conventional definition of "sport" involves physical activity (which is obviously lacking in a video game), but if filing it under that makes it easier for players to travel and compete in foreign tournaments, then I see no reason to let semantics get in the way of people's profession.
