WOW was my first MMO game (that wasn't text based) had it when it first came out and suffered through 2 expansions before finally quitting. Recently being super buzzed for an MMO because of guildwars2 I tried to play WOW again... couldn't even keep it going for 5 minuets. It just looked so ugly and was so unpleasant feeling to play and yet I remember playing it on release and marveling at its beauty. We've come so far...
O.G. EQ was my first Started just before Scars of Velious as a Dark Elf Necromancer named Drec on the Mithaniel Marr server
Seems to be quite a few EQ player's here, looks like none of you have played EQOA though. I like how the PS2 version is so unknown, literally. -_-
I see what you did there Unknown haha. I've heard of EQOA and I've seen some friends play it but never played it myself.
My first MMO was Asheron's Call... Had so much fun with that game. Then I moved onto Asheron's Call 2, which I loved even more. I wish there was a working and populated private server for AC2.
Everquest ... I still love that game. It's too bad my faulty memory remembers it looking better than it actually does.
World of Warcraft! Little Gnome Mage that I carried on playing through my 5 years of the game!! Great little guy!
Guild Wars 1. Even played it tonight with some friends. I know it is kind of outdated now but it is still fun playing with friends even after 8 years.
My first was.. My first MMO was WoW. Initially I had absolutely no interest in it. My manager at the time and a lot of my co-workers were playing and I decided to try it after listening to them talk about the quests they did the night before. Of course they were all dragging to work the next day. I tried it and love it. Been playing WoW since about 2 months after it launched. I've also play DDO, LOTRO, Conan, Vindictus, ROM, Rift, and SWTOR, KTera and GW. I loved GW but I have to admit the instanced based zones were a turn off to me so I mostly played WoW and GW. TOR was a huge disappointment and I stopped playing when I reached level 36. Tera is just plain boring. The combat kept my attention for a while but I lost interest at level 32ish.
I would have to say Everquest Online Adventures on the PS2. Fond memories there That's the first MMO game I can remember playing at least. I was a Troll Shaman
First was Everquest, 3 months after it launched. I still remember the day I logged in, with the ugly UI taking up 75% of the screen. I also remember standing outside the gates of Freeport...middle of the night in game, raining...and I was human so I couldn't see a thing. So..being a traveller in seek of shelter...I went over to the ogre merchant near by, and upon trying to speak to said Ogre...I accidentally attacked instead..and got reamed by the guards and it. That was my first experience in an MMO...and I've never looked back lol.
