Well, fear not, its still 2012. Since they just started it (closed beta), usually beta phases take about 2-3 months. However, knowing Arenanet's track record, it'll be 4-5 months. Then "open" beta will come up. That'll probably be fast at a 2 month pace, then launch. This is just my prediction.
Lot of people out there asking about when it will launch but this is the first "when will open beta be?" i've seen. This is quite the epiphany though, it takes whatever your personal fictitious launch date is and shaves a month or two off. I guess as long as we can start playing GW2 we're happy right? Thanks for a (slightly pathetic) happy thought for the day!
My guess is that first of many open beta weekends will be in March 2012 during GDC (it's sometime early in the month) and that they will open up WvWvW to as many people as they can cram in. I'm still hoping for a live date of May 2012.

I agree more or less with what's been said. Around 2-3 month of closed beta and then a shorter open-beta. I just hope they do a REAL open beta this time, not some "beta weekends" because that'd mean playing 24/7 on weekends lol.
if there is a beta weekend i will not sleep in that weekend, and if i fall a sleep i will still be playing GW2 in my dreams.
