If you're like me, your run your PC Skyrim with like 100 mods, at all times. Out of all of them, which do you think are the most essential? For me, I would have to say... Realistic Needs and Diseases - Exactly what it says on the tin. Basically, like nightmare mode from Fallout: New Vegas. You have to regular eat, drink and sleep in order to stay alive. Food can spoil, you can get drunk, and you can catch diseases from eating raw or stale food. It adds a lot of additional challenge to the game, which I like. Skyrim's Unique Treasures - Adds a bunch of random unique treasures into the world. I always was kind of annoyed how, in Skyrim, you'd loot some ancient chest, just to find your standard gold and gems. By adding all of these unique treasures, the game feels a lot more real.
Definitely more unique treasures. It gets boring seeing the same gold and coin when I loot places. I would love to have more artifacts than just those that belong to the Daedric Princes to find and hoard. I also need to have new clothes since I like seeing my character wear nice things when she is killing bandits, stealing from bandits or doing both at the same time XD
It is hard to say, I do like the some of the survival stuff that gets added, but I avoid treasure ones because the game was designed around them not being there.
I have no idea how a person could enjoy a nudity mod on a game, but anyways: Realism survival mods always a must in a game like this especially with how much it would help with immersion if you are the sort of person that is into that. Mods that expand towns or add more dungeons. Loot mods of course. And any skin mod that strikes your fancy really.
Skyrim has so many great mods available for free, that it is insane. If I would have to pick my favorites, I would say the Ease-Of-Use mods that tidy up your Inventory and such, along with the graphical improvement mods and the companion mods, which add a lot of really great companions to your game, with their own backstory which are far superior to what the base game gave us.
I use SkyUI (naturally), Realistic Lighting With Overhaul ( I'd say a lighting mod of any kind is pretty much required because the vanilla lighting is pretty bland), slower leveling mod that I made myself, and Immersive Armors. I have others but I could do without them if I had to.
I like the Deadly Dragons mod. It makes the threat of dragons much more realistic and a lot harder for the villagers to steal dragon kills from you

Mainly the ones that are put in there for fun as they are more fun to play with them there. There are some other ones that give the game more depth but I mainly like playing the fun ones as they are fun to play. I don't think a lot of them are essential just depends on what are your preferences.
I agree with the ones that are not too intricate and over the top. The detail can be intimidating for someone like me, so the more enjoyable the better.
Must-have Skyrim mods for me: 1)Ordinator perk overhaul(allows for many more playstyles) 2)Familiar Faces(allows you to add characters from different save files to your current game as followers, enemies etc.) 3)Immersive Armors and Weapons(Adds more armors and weapons to the game.) 4)I-need/Realistic Needs and Diseases(for added immersion). 5)Frostfall(added immersion). 5)Climates of Tamriel/True Weathers(Weather mods).
I remember The Ethereal Elven Overhaul used to be my favorite. It just made the elf races look so goddamn good. I also had a SkyUI which completely changed Skyrim's UI for the better.
In addition to what I wrote above I would now also add Purity mod (which replaced realistic lighting as it is better imo), Improved Closefaced helmets and Celtic music in Skyrim ( I am not a very big fan of the original OST ).
I also left out the alternate life mod and also the Dragon soul passive mods such as True Dragonborn Strength, Dragon's Disciples etc. which offer stat boost based on the number of Dragon souls absorbed. Then there is the Ningheim race mod, real flying mod, FNIS-PCEA2 to give my magic based characters that powerful warlock feel.
