The Mayans never said what the end of the calendar means, the stone that has the information about it is so eroded that only a couple of symbols can be made out. Two of them mean to take part in celebration. The thing that's more scary than the end of the world is that their civilisation vanished off the face of the earth and archaeologists believe that it's because their society was much like ours (They had cities as big as New York and LA) they stopped trying to build to be close to their surroundings and allowing the smaller communities to unite and live in one place. They started wars, and working for material gain, wasting resources instead of just taking what they needed. Much like our civilization today.
No thanks - the remains of my body are burned and melted, thus reduced to nothing, by the meteors that fell on earth on the 21st. There is nothing left to bury.
I wrote earlier in this thread that I'd watch the movie 2012 after the 21st and laugh. That was just a joke, but this weekend, I had a sleepover with some friends, and we ended up watching the movie and laughing  After that, lots of romantic stuff happened, to put it shortly. End of my single life. Perhaps that is the end of the world, no?
Skaara thought the world would end so he went out with a bang and had a threesome with his fellow bible salesmen. They forgot to take their Fuckitol pills and passed out. There was no apocalypse. Spoiler
I plan I showing the movie 2012 to my kids and saying "Yup I survived this. See that kid all the way to the right on the boat? That's me!"
