Is it as fun as the real deal?

DDO is nothing like the traditional pen/dice game. However, if DDO kept the same narration as it did when it was the pay-to-play Stormreach version of the game, then that adds a bit of a 'traditional' charm to it. Unfortunately, the last time I played that game, there is zero exploration. Some players have suggested that I could explore the world, but the thing is, none of it is open world enough. Also, there are tons of invisible walls.

But paper D&D was the same deal. You couldnĀ“t just walk away from the adventure that the DM had designed for you. You alway had to follow the quest or else give the DM a week to design in the direction you want. There definitely is not an open world in DDO, the whole game is divided into 10 minute - 2 hour adventures. But then again, so was paper D&D
