Hey all! I am a veteran Guild Wars 2 player, I started playing at release. Is hearth of thorns the 50 bucks really worth? If they are only going to add a few maps and some specialisations I feel like they don't add a lot to the game. And the game itself is only worth 20 dollars...

The general consensus is that if you're a fan of GW2, you'll enjoy the expansion pack. I can understand being put off by the price of the expansion, but remember that GW doesn't have a subscription model; they have to profit somehow. :) I'd say go for it!

I say get it on sale. HoT is more of an extended DLC than a full on expansion honestly. Legit online retailers often sell it at $35 which is reasonable. GW2 makes up for the lack of subs with the ton of quality of life gemstore sales so you end up spending more in the long term.

To me I would say the expansion is worth it, and you can pick it up even cheaper than 50 bucks now. If you are looking for a continuation to the story, if you are looking for harder content, looking for more reasons to team up in the open world and if you are looking for an alternative way to play your profession. If yes to these things, it will probably be worth it for you.

Yes, you are right. In my opinion, $35 is a reasonable and a perfect price.

I really do have much experience with this one, but I have always thought it looked pretty interesting. I would say even fifty seems like a lot.
