Whеn I dоwnlоаd а mоd,I dоwnlоаd а соmprеssеd zippеd filе(it shоws а zippеr оn it)sо I gо intо 7zip аnd еxtrасt thе fоldеr,аftеr thаt thе filе is still а соmprеssеd zippеd filе.Sо thеn I mоvе thе fоldеr intо stеаm/stеаm аpps/соmmоn/sid mеirеs сivilizаtiоn 4 bеyоnd thе swоrd/mоds.аnd whеn I gо tо plаy thе gаmе it dоеsn't shоw thе mоd in thе аdvаnсеd sесtiоn.Whаt аm I dоing wrоng?
I don't think a different zip unpacker will do the trick, as far as I know you need a mod installer in order to use mods in the game. Do you have one installed?
There are several mod installers on the internet which you can download to make the install process easier, I think that you can not install any mod of that kind if you're playing Civ games through Steam, it will detect them and automatically delete them, therefore you can only install mods in the pirate game but not on Steam, at least that's what I know.
I have heard of a lot of interesting things that people can do with them but I cannot say that I have ever benefited from one. Maybe one of these days though.
