Fallout: NV is an amazing game, don't get me wrong but I think they could've done much more with the characters, story and the environment present. I feel like they became kind of lazy after half of the game, nothing mods can't solve anyway!
Yeah, especially when it came to the Strip. There could have been more NPC interaction or something to make it feel a bit more alive since it is a hub and whatnot. While their DLC was pretty decent, I was hoping they would use one to bring more life into the vanilla game. Hopefully Fallout 4 won't have that same problem.
Yeah, I think that's where the game really lost points for me. That was one of the biggest areas in the game, if not the biggest, yet it always felt almost barren?
Hell, Fallout 3 had more people in its hub cities and it felt a bit more alive, so I couldn't see why Obsidian dropped the ball on this. It's pretty much why I ignore this game and go back to playing 3 despite beating it so many times.
I liked the Strip, but it ends very quickly it's true. The latter part of the game, while interesting, is very short and needed something more. But I still really enjoyed it. Just for potential alone, I like it more than F3.
The faction system in the Strip could have been better. Trying to get on their good side or destroy them felt really repetitive after a while [even though there was some variety and they did not really feel like fetch quests or anything of the sort]. I also hated the fact that after they gave you your stuff back after leaving a casino the hotkeys were reset. It was really annoying having to go through the same process over and over again.
There were a few things that I wish they would have worked on before they released the game, but other than that I think Fallout: New Vegas is a very solid game. It's probably the best Fallout that I've played to date, although I still haven't played Fallout 4 yet (we'll see, we'll see).
Yeah, I'm almost the same way. i see a lot of people praising this game and I just don't see it. Different strokes for different folks I guess, and since Fallout is such a huge franchise, I guess it was expected to have some varying opinions around here.
New Vegas had much better quests and more options in their solving. I think that's the main reason to be honest.
Well, that I can get, but I'm still annoyed that they couldn't get post-game content placed in the game with DLC. As crappy as Broken Steel may be, that lone DLC was the reason I bought Fallout 3 to begin with. If Obsidian pulled a "Broken Steel but done better", I would have been happy singing its praises and would not have sold the game after finishing it like I did for New Vegas.
