Well if people continue to pirate games then we're going to see more DRM. Only problem with it though is that the amount of people pirating a game compared to the amount of people buying the game is huge. Nobody pirates games like Call of Duty or Battlefield 3. Why would you pirate a game that is mainly multiplayer? But when you get a game like Skyrim, Far Cry 3 hell even Metro 2033 lots of people are going to pirate games because they get all the content.

The problem is drm doesbt stop pirates. They still pirate it.

  4. Really? Actually if people continue to add more DRM then there will be more pirating, not the other way around. Some fat corporate twat assumes that I will be more eager to pay them money for getting crappy support, crazy DRM and having my country as multiplayer reservation - screw them.

The easiest way to stop piracy is not by putting antipiracy technology to work. It’s by giving those people a service that’s better than what they’re receiving from the pirates.

drm or no, ppl will still pirate the games. what happens if you got a bad internet connection? then you can't play because of the drm and your money it's been wasted. I don't like it, tbh.

That is not what hes saying shurefire. What hes saying is alot of pirates are not bad people they pirate cause the companies treat them like dirt. And anyway drm doesn't stop pirates so i don't see the point of it.

It slows them down. I don't completely agree with it. Games need DRM though since people are going to pirate them. If you're a developer and you know people are pirating your games wouldn't you be pissed off? Now I know there is a limit on DRM *cough* Diablo 3 *cough* but there has to be some form of DRM.

But the problem is that drm doesn't stop people. Go on a pirate website all the games with drm will still be there. It doesnt do anything for gods sake.

If DRM worked, piracy would be a non-issue.

It makes it harder for people to pirate. It's harder to get around DRM than if there wasn't. If there was no DRM, no way to keep people from doing what ever, why would you pay for a game? Why would I pay for Battlefield 3 when I can just pirate it and play it with my friends who bought it?

    Seriously.

Oh, and Gog.com. Read their policy.

    That is all.

Whats with this "corporate fat cat" nonsense? It's not like all your money goes to one person. It goes to cover real costs, they don't just put it in their pocket.

I'll hop in here and mention that I was about to ask the same question, but didn't want to seem dumb. But yeah, I don't know either.
