I don't prefer one over the other that much, but I do think NV is a overall better game. The NV world is just so much more alive and entertaining. I never played any of the DLCs for NV, so I can't compare them there. I also like the story in New Vegas more, but I think that's more personal taste.

I like F3 much better. NV is still really fun though and I like the features. But I finally just bought F3 so naturally I'm more attached to it. It's making me so much more excited for F4.

FO: NV felt more characterized and quirky to me. Yeah, Fallout 3 felt more bleak, but I grew tired of that. 3 felt a bit more linear than New Vegas, too. There were so many different ways to get to the end game in NV that were just not present in 3.

As I said before I really like New Vegas the most, so I wish that Fallout 4 learns some stuff from this game. We could get the best of two worlds.

I loved the feel of Fallout New Vegas so much more. It was hard for me to get into Fallout 3 the first time I played it but New Vegas was so much fun. I like the Vegas style, nothing beats having high luck and going into the casino and winning a bunch of caps. I am replaying Fallout 3 now!

I prefer the gameplay of Fallout New Vegas over that of Fallout 3. The combat is better and the enemies are more diverse. That being said, I liked the story more in Fallout 3, as I felt more immersed in its world than in New Vegas.

I agree, combat is so much better in Vegas. But I also think that the story was better than what 3 had, but that's me. :p

I have to say that at first I thought 3 was so much better than NV. I got NV on day 1 and was really excited to play it, and I think I ran into so many bugs that I ended up being kind of disappointed. But eventually I went back to replay it, and really enjoyed it. I think I ended up beating it last year finally, I think all the characters are way more fleshed out and have better stories, and while the story is kind of "meh" to me, it is better than Fallout 3's and has more options. So I guess I enjoy NV more now that I've given it a chance.

I agree, bugs were definitely a problem in my playthrough, too. But it's great when it works as it should. I hope Fallout 4 doesn't suffer from bugs as much as these two games did.

Definitely. I know when New Vegas came out I had it for my PS3 and it was super bad. I had one glitch where one of my companions just stopped following me, by the time I realized they weren't there I had no idea where the last place they were with me was. I'm expecting some glitches when Fallout 4 comes out, but I'm hoping none of them are game breaking and they are fixed as quickly as they can.

I found Fallout 3 much easier to get into from the beginning. It had me sucked in. I came from Morrowind with bated breath, and they won me over right off the bat.

New Vegas is fantastic to play. But it is a little harder to get into from the get-go. That's just my opinion.

Kind of like how many feel Majora's Mask is better than Ocarina of Time, but I found Majora harder to get into. And Ocarina just fit in like a glove.

I thought New Vegas was a step down to be honest. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great game, but Fallout 3 is better in my opinion.

I do. I think New Vegas had a better setting and a better plot. FO3 felt too much like the generic post-apocalyptic scenario, while New Vegas tried to keep things fresh with all the colorful factions and modern wild-west tropes.

Edit: However, I do admit the prologue of FO3 was much better than the one in New Vegas. Nothing beats messing around the vaults while still a child/teenager

I really liked the setting and siding with all the possible factions or taking Vegas for your own. FO3 I like too, but it has a habit of crashing on me whenever I get too far into it that I forgot to save. One of the reasons why I prefer New Vegas over FO3, it never crashed! :p

Me. New Vegas is definitely much, much better than 3. I guess it has something to do with the fact that it was the game that kicked off my Fallout addiction, but still.
