Of course the strip could have been done better in New Vegas. It was a little annoying to navigate within the city with the casinos and whatnot. It didn't feel as grand as it should have, in my opinion. What are your thoughts?

I agree with you. Seeing the Strip for the first time was a bit underwhelming. You had to make some effort to get in, there was this huge build-up but it was slightly disappointing in the end.

I don't know what else they could have done though. Maybe they could have populated the casinos/Strip with more NPCs and have more interesting things to do. I mean each casino belonged to a certain family/faction and you knew what to expect when entering the casinos and interacting with them. It had a really rigid structure in that sense.

I would have thought the strip should have more ways to gamble, even use weapons and armor as payment( literally lose one's shirt). Also, the idea of the player getting robbed/ mugged would be cool, having to watch your back while getting stupid drunk with a hooker on one arm and a fist full of caps in the other.

Yeah, there were a good few things that I found were annoying in the strip. There were places I didn't even know existed until later in the game xD

I wish, but I'm not sure my current PC can take it - doubly so my PC back then!

I mean, you know Skyrim settlement expansion mod, right? It takes various workaround to make it works. And that's with newer engine...

I totally agree with you. Apparently, the Strip was done the way it was done because of the limitations the consoles had. They should have made the PC version a lot better than it was. The strip just felt empty and I didn't really feel like I was in Vegas. The casinos were always empty, and were in some cases, very confusing to navigate. It just didn't feel as special and cool as it should have felt, and as I expected. I'm sure there are mods for that, however, but it should have been already in the game.

Most certainly, their should have been better design thought put into the concept. I sure did not enjoy the navigation too much.

Losing your shirt would have been hilarious in a morbid way. I like your idea of gambling away actual items instead of just caps. Also, the risk of robberies or even getting cheated out of money would have made the experience better.

There was just little atmosphere when I was finally able to get inside the Strip. It would have been cooler to have more NPC walking around with little pockets of markets around and just more interaction for me to have. Hopefully they will do it better in the next game.

Something about the strip did seem quite bare and underwhelming. I understand the tech limitations of the time but maybe a few more structures would have helped. A bit of "clutter" in an environment can help it feel a lot more populated/grand.
It also didn't help that the same five songs you've been hearing on the radio as you crossed the Mojave, are the ones on the loudspeakers in New Vegas. I know it's the same station and all, but it made the strip seem like just another location you know?

I think the graphics in any gaming release could always do better. However, the graphics for the strip in Las Vegas was done good, but not great. It should have been done a little better and I am sure in the next release of the Las Vegas edition of Fall Out will be an improvement upon the strip of this version.

Yeah, the Strip seemed kinda bleh to me. It was built up to be this amazing grand place and nope, it's just as crap and f**ked up as every where else. Which might have been the entire point, but still.

Though apparently it was supposed to be much grander and bigger then it was in game? Sometimes about console limitations made them change it. Pity.

It's always the consoles fault. Every game that ports to the systems always holds back the PC version. Then again, I don't have a PC that can run anything at full steam

I call bull on that. They could have made the effort to have a bit more life into the Strip by having more NPCs and just programming events to happen there. If they wanted to fix it, they could have introduced it in a DLC to expand existing places in the game, if they cared.

Sadly most of last generation games had these issues, it wasn't just New Vegas. Heck, even Skyrim feels dead and empty.
Hopefully they can fix this in Fallout 4, there were some scenes that seemed pretty populated in the trailers, so I am hoping for the best.

I didn't mind it too much. I think it could have been done better, but it wasn't too bothersome to me.

While I didn't mind it that much I have to agree that they could've improved much more on The Strip, it was quite annoying when it came to navigation.

The Strip felt like just another location to me. The main quests involving it were great, but the place itself was underwhelming. The npcs keep talking about the strip like It's a wonder to behold, and although I get the game was may be trying to say "This world is so screwed that's what they consider grand" I still felt cheated out of what could have been a very fun aspect of the fallout universe.

The Strip is proof that a sequel to New Vegas should be made to fix these issues. Obsidian always had problems with the dev time they're given, first with KOTOR2 and then this.
