Cyanide Studio and Focus Home Interactive officially announced recently that Focus is partnering with White Wolf Publishing and Cyanide to create a new video game based on the World of Darkness universe. The new game in the works is Werewolf: The Apocalypse – The Official Video Game that will be set in the World of Darkness by White Wolf Publishing.
Cyanide is developing the new game where players will become a werewolf named Garou and become immersed in a tribal world. Garou are werewolf warriors who are opposed to urban civilization and supernatural corruption, all leading towards the inevitable apocalypse. The game will be an RPG that’s being developed for consoles and PC.
Speaking on the news Tobias Sjogren of White Wolf stated: “The World of Darkness has always attracted creatives with a strong passion for telling dark and immersive stories. So to work closely with the great talent at Focus Home and Cyanide exploring the savage Werewolves of this universe is an absolutely fantastic experience for us at White Wolf and we are more than excited to see this great and highly relevant IP realized in a video game.”
Focus President Cedric Lagarrigue added: “We are pleased to partner with White Wolf to bring Werewolf: The Apocalypse to life in a video game for consoles and PC. We are excited to work on the World of Darkness universe, as this is formidable playground to tell the players a great story. We are also happy to partner with Cyanide Studio in this adventure – they are behind the original wish to adapt this universe, and we are faithful in their ability to create a game that will please both fans of World of Darkness and newcomers.”
Focus Home Interactive will reveal more information on the game at the Paris event, “le What’s Next de Focus” set for February 1-2.
