NeocoreGames just dropped the launch trailer for The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II. The game was released todayf or the Xbox One, and it’s available from Microsoft for $14.99. You can check out the new gameplay trailer for the action-RPG below.

The new game continues the tale of the famous monster-hunter and features a new tower defense mini-game, expanded skill-trees, three classes, and an overhauled multiplayer experience. There are other new gameplay features to expand the game’s monster-hunt. On top of that, gamers can transfer their level 30 characters from Van Helsing I on Xbox One and continue their story from where it left off.

Here are the key gameplay features:

  • A new adventure: The incredible adventures continue, and Van Helsing, the famous monster-hunter, returns to save the day again with his witty companion, Lady Katarina.
  • New skills, tricks, and auras: Twice as many skills, brand new tricks and auras will help players fight this epic battle against a mysterious enemy.
  • Transferable characters: Players can choose from three very different classes and thanks to their expanded skill-trees they are easily customizable to fit any play-styles. Players can also transfer their level 30 characters from Van Helsing I.
  • INSANE Multiplayer: Players and their friends can test their skill against each other in PvP mode or join forces and complete the story in co-operative mode for up to four players.
  • Updated tower-defense mini-game: With enemies invading in waves, players have the opportunity to defend their Lair and other strategic locations with deployable traps and several upgradable functions to ward off evil, now with improved gameplay mechanics and up to seven levels, presented as optional side-quests.
  • Improved scenario mode: Once the main campaign has been completed, the scenario levels become available to players. Featuring very diverse missions, designed to provide bigger challenges and more loot for players.
  • Resistance Management: This brand new feature enables players to become the leader of the Resistance: send your captains on various missions to support the cause!

Along with the game, two new DLC packs have also been released: The Che Domovoy Minipet DLC and the Expurgator Set. Both DLC packs are available for $0.99 each. The Che Domovoy comes with a rare minipet, gear and perk while the Expurgator Set grants you a full wardrobe of unique and powerful set items. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II is available now on Xbox One for $14.99.

The gameplay is Diablo III-esque but I like the graphics, for a game like this they're amazingly good. Seems like a lot of fun and Van Helsing is a character I'm familiar with, too bad it's only available on Xbox One.

The entire franchise has been out on steam for quite a while.

I've only played the first game and it's a pretty solid Diablo clone with a competent storyline. I tried out the 2nd game a bit but didn't enjoy it as much as the first one. I haven't touched the third game yet, but I've heard mixed things about it. On steam there's a combined version with all three games put together in one game that seems like a good deal if you want to get into them.

Really? Didn't know that, then I'm off to trying it out since it seems pretty good. Do you reckon it's a good idea to buy the bundle with all three of them if I'd never touched the games in this franchise?

Yeah, the bundle/final cut version is probably the best way to start the franchise. I actually just bought it yesterday, and I'm pretty excited to start it soon. I hope you enjoy it!

The graphics look good and although I'm not particularly fond of this type of setting and lore I will probably still be able to get into it once I start playing. At the very least I'm hoping there is a way to earn and change character skins.
