Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Being Rebooted?

by on April 11, 2017

When it comes to important RPG’s of the past decade or so, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic definitely stands as one of them, if not the greatest. It still stands as one of the greatest Star Wars games ever made, and impacted a line of RPG’s to this day, including Bioware’s follow-up RPG, Mass Effect. Now though, there’s rumors that the series could come back.

According to industry insider Liam Robertson, Bioware is making a reboot of the franchise:

“I’ve learned now that [BioWare Austin is] pretty much now exclusively working on Star Wars games and they’re going to be doing that for the indefinite future,” he said. “What they’re currently working on right now—and I have this on good authority—is a sort of remake/revival of Knights of the Old Republic. I don’t know when this is set to come out, but it has been in development for a little while now.”

Now, this is hardly confirmed, but it is interesting, as fans so want a return to the universe in its pure RPG form, rather than the MMORPG that is currently around. Also, the sequel to the game wasn’t as popular as the original, likely because it wasn’t done by the Bioware team. Though, with them back on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic potentially, big things could be happening.
