Scars of Honor Falls Short of Kickstarter Goal

by on March 8, 2024

A month ago, Beast Burst Entertainment started a crowdfunding campaign for Scars of Honor, a 3D fantasy MMORPG. Today, the developers are nigh short of celebrating success or victory.

Despite the project’s funding goal of $200k, the game has only raised $34,041 with 261 backers. The game has received some criticism for its gameplay and overall look and feel, with some claiming it is a rip-off of World of Warcraft.

This campaign failed despite its free-to-play model instead of a subscription service. Beast Burst Entertainment posted a statement about the campaign’s progress and impact. The post highlighted the initial expectations of the studio and hinted at plans for alternative funding sources.

Beast Burst Failure on Kickstarter

“We sincerely thank you for your continuous support. You are the driving force behind our journey; without you, we wouldn’t have come this far. As our Kickstarter journey has come to an end, we know that many of you will have questions, so we will answer some of them now. The whole Kickstarter experience was indeed a remarkable one, and we learned a lot, gaining feedback that will undoubtedly benefit our project.”

The studio further highlighted some progress and future endeavors for the project.

“Although the Kickstarter campaign wasn’t successful, we are continuing to develop Scars of Honor at full speed. Every week new experts are joining our team of 72 people – most of them members of important departments with amazing backgrounds in the industry. Furthermore, our development pipeline was completely reorganized which will help us develop things faster and more efficiently.”

Scars of Honor, developed by Beast Burst Entertainment, allows you to choose a race from eight available options (Human, High Elf, Dwarf, Bearan, Orc, Undead, Infernal Demon, Minotaur). The player will be taken to the land of Aragon as the chosen race and then must choose a class (Warrior, Paladin, Mage, Priest, Ranger, Druid Witch, Pirate, Assassin, Necromancer).
