How well has Nier: Automata done? Did it help Platinum Games bounce back?
Platinum Games has had it rough as of late. One of their major projects, Scalebound, was scuttled by Microsoft, and another project they had didn’t hit with audiences. As such, all their hopes of continuing to make games was put on Nier: Automata. Thankfully for all fans of the studio, this was a good bet, as Square Enix reveals it’s sold over 2 million copies worldwide since its launch, a success in every way.
The game has been a hit with fans in many ways, as there have been many fanart pieces, cosplays, and more done of the series. And many are wondering whether a sequel is possible. Given the great response, it’s entirely possible.
If you haven’t had a chance to play the game, it’s available at a discount on Steam and the PlayStation Store.
That's good to know that it sold that much copies already. The fact that people already want a sequel means there is a demand for it already.
